Architecture design is a significant part in construction of Roads and one needs to have a very empirical approach. Designers need to understand the requirements of the road which they plan to design. Costing is a primary concern, especially considering that Road construction is activity which has Government interference and hence consideration of Schedule of Rates and availability of resources as per the Geographical requirements is most important.

Any design flaws would result in delay,costs going up and inconvenience to users .

In City’s there is a need for designing any transportation facility with a consideration of Last mile connectivity and also a coordinated exercise ith various agencies Namely Municipal Corporation, Metro or Mono Rail operating agencies as well as local populations demands and requirements. The best approach is to work cohesively with a mandate to facilitate smooth traffic and commuter movement.

Emerging technologies in construction as well as technology like BIM and AI are very helpful in minimising time taken for feasibility studies as well as pre DPR stage. The IOT as well as AI in conjugation with new road building technologies are responsible in fast construction of Roads as well as preparing Smart , Superexpress Highways in India.
